We will explore the two distinct areas of the Carr Boyd Range, North and South. You will experience refreshing swims in tropical rivers and turquoise natural pools, explore rugged gorges by foot and by swimming where only a few have tread, discover ancient rock art sites and camp on waterfalls or in boab country.
Purnululu National Park is a mythical and isolated world of breathtaking natural beauty. Beyond Cathedral Gorge, beyond the famous domes and beyond Piccaninny Gorge, in the heart of the park, in a world forgotten by tourists, carved by almost 400 million years of erosion, snuggled up in lost times, five small gorges are hidden: “The 5 Fingers”.

The expedition starts at 7:00 am on the date nominated. We will travel 4 hours by 4WD to commence our exploration deep into the Purnululu National Park.
On the first day of the expedition, we can expect to encounter daytrippers, but as we walk out of Cathedral Cave, we leave the crowds behind and enter a world only a few have seen. For the next six days, we will explore the five fingers.
We will be walking approximately 10-12km per day. I plan to leave camp very early each morning. Our day will start early to avoid walking in the day's heat. We will return to camp around 4 pm.
The weather in the area can vary greatly. Daytime temperatures can climb beyond 30° C, whereas it can be very cold in the evening.

During our adventure, I will endeavour to keep us in the present by ensuring that tomorrow only exists in our imagination. I would like you to disconnect from everyday life by surrendering to the present, focusing on our walks and discoveries of these beautiful ranges. Let yourself be guided for a few days without worrying about what tomorrow will be. Staying in the present is a very simple and pleasant life experience, invigorating for the mind and the body.
This adventure is for people who can walk ten kilometres, which is within the reach of most of us. The most important thing is being consistent walkers able to walk for one hour without stopping. The difficulties we encounter are steep climbs, off-track walking, and the heat. However, everything is manageable.
We recognise and acknowledge the Miriwoong Gajerrong people as the Traditional custodians of the Kununurra area of the East Kimberley and their continuing connection to land, water, and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present, and emerging.
We are sorry, there are no reviews yet for this tour.
