Kimberley - Western Australia
3 weeks packrafting the far Kimberley
DATES
17 March to 6 April 2024
16 March to 5 April 2025
21-Day Exploration of the Drysdale River. Leaving Kununurra by plane, we will fly North-West across the vast Kimberley to the Drysdale River station. Once at the station, we will inflate our Alpacka rafts to begin 14 days of paddling along the Drysdale River to near Solea Falls. We will take time to explore the extraordinary landscape along the river. We will paddle through tranquil pools linked by long and fun class 1 to 2.5 rapids. You need to be able to paddle with dexterity, to have a natural control of your vessel.
Along our route, hidden in space and the past are the mysterious Gwion Gwion figures, an ancient Aboriginal rock painting style describing a forgotten time of dancing and ceremonies.
In the last week, we will reach the superb Solea Falls and meet our seaplane for our return journey to Kununurra.
