This tour is for walkers who like to spend time in crystal waters. We will walk in search of the most beautiful swimming pools in the south of Litchfield National Park, where very few bushwalkers venture.
Litchfield national Park is situated 100 km from Darwin. Most people, not to say everybody is visiting the North area. I offer you to discover the Southern remote part of the National Park.
Start: Darwin
Finish: Darwin
The expedition starts 7:30am on the date nominated. We will travel 2.5 hours by 4WD to commence our exploration at Surprise falls deep into the Litchfield National Park.
We can expect to encounter day trippers at Surprise falls and Tableland falls but as we walk out of these sites, we leave the crowds behind and enter a world only a few will see. For 5 days we will explore Surprise and Tableland creeks .
We will be walking approximated 5 – 10 km per day. I plan to leave camp at 8:30 am each morning. Our day will start early to avoid walking in the heat of the day. We will return to camp around 3.30pm.
The weather in the area can vary during the dry season. We can expect the day time temperatures to climb beyond 35° C whereas during the evening the temperature can hopefully be much cooler.
Inclusions:
4WD transport
Evening 3 course meal
Experienced guide with extensive knowledge of the area
Exclusions:
Breakfast, lunch and snacks

This tour is for bushwalkers who like to swim. We will walk in search of the most beautiful swimming pools in the south of Litchfield National Park, where very few bushwalkers venture.
The first day, we will reach Surprise Falls where we can cool off before reaching our camp located on the plateau, at the edge of a long pool of turquoise water.
On the second day we will explore Surprise Creek until we reach our camp where we will stay for two nights. Along the way we will research Aboriginal Art sites and enjoy the natural pools.
The third day will be entirely devoted to exploring the Tableland Creek, whose countless pools, cascades and waterfalls are a real swimming invitation. We will leave our backpacks at the camp, only carrying a simple day pack. I will provide you with a waterproof bag so we can take full advantage of a small gorge by swimming through it.
It will be a fairly short walk in the shade of the tropical trees that follow the course of the river. You don't have to be a good swimmer and you can stop for a rest where ever you want.
Backpack free, we will enjoy the countless natural pools
We will swim to the famous Tableland falls. On the way back, we will explore some small tributaries.
On the fourth day, we will return to the East of the national park, walking on the wooded plateau. We will camp near Surprise Falls.
On the fifth day, we will rejoin the vehicles and return to Darwin along the Reynolds Track, enjoying landscapes featuring the magnetic termite mounds.
