This 7 days - 6 nights tour is for walkers who wish to explore the entire southern area of Litchfield National Park from Sandy Creek in the dry season or Lost City in the wet season to Tableland Creek Falls. It will lead us along the Tableland creek, the Reynolds river area, Red Rock and Tableland creeks. We will explore a wild untouched world of creeks, swimming holes, cascades and gorges.
Litchfield national Park is situated 100 km from Darwin. Most people, not to say everybody is visiting the North area. I offer you to discover the Southern remote part of the National Park.
Start: Darwin
Finish: Darwin
The expedition starts 7:30am on the date nominated. We will travel 2 hours by 4WD to commence our exploration at Sandy creek during the dry season or Lost City during the wet season deep into the Litchfield National Park.
We can expect to encounter day trippers at Sandy creek and Tableland Falls during the dry season but as we walk out of these sites, we leave the crowds behind and enter a world only a few will see. For 7 days we will explore 3 creeks, Tjaynera, Red Rock and Tableland creeks .
We will be walking approximated 5 – 10 km per day. I plan to leave camp at 8:30 am each morning. Our day will start early to avoid walking in the heat of the day. We will return to camp around 3.30 pm.
The weather in the area varies during the dry season. We can expect the day time temperatures to climb beyond 35°C whereas during the evening the temperature can hopefully be much cooler.
