7-Louise Denton Photographers tour
Do you love photography? Do you love our Top End outdoors? Are you a bushwalker or would love to try?! Do you want to further your photography knowledge, refine your skills or discover new photographic locations?
Immerse yourself in Litchfield National Park - join No Traces bushwalking tours and Louise Denton Photography on a three day adventure!
This tour is a perfect introduction to off track bushwalking in the Top End - we will visit regions not accessible by road, you’ll enjoy pristine swimming holes and private bush campsites. Your bushwalking guide, Sebastien, will guide us through regions around the Lost City and Tjaynera Falls.
Litchfield is a photographer’s paradise! We will be photographing lots of water - from mighty waterfalls, to gentle cascades and tranquil creeks. There’s dramatic rock formations, ancient cycads, clifftop views and nature all around us - there will be no shortage of beauty to photograph!
Louise will offer photographic assistance along the way - from the basics and the “exposure triangle”, to composition techniques, colour balance and image sharpness, long exposures and using light. You’ll have plenty of time to practice and ask as many questions as you need! Groups will be small (max of 6 people), to ensure you get the most out of your experience.
Whether you are a complete photographic beginner and need to know the basics, or if you’re just looking for new inspiration and places to shoot, there’s something for you
We will begin our adventure with a walk through spectacular rock formations, to reach our bush campsite where will will base ourselves for two nights. Swim in our own private waterfalls, photographing these areas at the best times of sunrise and sunset. We will also do short day walks around the area and discover other sites to enjoy, photograph and swim!
What equipment do you need?
For the bushwalking, you will need to ensure you are comfortable walking off track whilst carrying a full pack - you can see a full equipment list on No Traces website here - https://notraces-bushwalking-australia.com/bushwalking-essentiel-gear/
We are happy to advise if you are new to off track bushwalking.
For the photography - please remember that we will need to pack light. Don’t bring every single lens you own!
These are the essential items for this trip:
a camera (not a phone, any camera with manual capabilities whether it be a compact, mirrorless or DLSR).
a lens (wider angle is preferable, please get in touch if you’re not sure).
a tripod
spare batteries/memory cards - you will not have access to any mains power, so please ensure you are prepared.
Optional:
any filters you like to use (I always travel with a polaraiser, but also often a graduated ND and solid ND).
dry bag or rain cover to protect electrical gear (even in the dry season I carry one - just in case).
Again, we are happy to assist if you need advice.
