3 WEEKS

DATES

15 May to 4 June 2022

12 June to 2 July 2022

At the end of the wet season waterfalls and swimming holes follow one another along the languid rivers of the South Carr Boyd. We will explore rugged gorges by foot and by swimming where very few have been. We will provide you the right equipment to keep your pack dry.

In the North Carr Boyd  campsites are located on the waterfalls or in boab country, the swims are in turquoise natural pools or in the deep blue rivers, the escarpment offers vast views across the ranges or the plains and I will take you to hidden rock art sites .

Purnululu National Park is a mythical and very isolated world of breathtaking natural beauty. Beyond Cathedral Gorge, beyond the famous domes and beyond Piccaninny gorge, in the heart of the park, in a world forgotten by tourists, carved by almost 400 millions years of erosion, snuggled up in lost times, 5 small gorges are hidden: “The 5 Fingers”.

Kimberley - Western Australia

3 weeks in the far Kimberley

DATES

3 to 23 April 2021

21 Day Exploration of the Drysdale River.

Leaving Kununurra by float plane, we will fly north-West across the vast Kimberley to the Drysdale River. Once at the landing site we will ready our Alpacka rafts to begin 10 days of paddling along the Drysdale River to Sloea Falls. We will take time to explore the extraordinary landscape along the river. We will travel along deep gorges, through tranquil billabongs and encounter rapids that require level 1-2 skills to negotiate. At Sloea Falls we will leave the rafts and start our 10-day exploration of the area on foot carrying packs. We will explore the rich cultural environment, that may contain evidence of ancient inhabitants and possibly some artwork typical of the Northern Kimberley. We will then meet our float -plane for our return journey to Kununurra.
